Privacy policy

In short: this website sets no cookies, loads nothing from third-party servers and does not measure your behaviour. That is why this policy is shorter than most.

What is recorded when you visit

When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary information to our hosting provider, which stores it briefly in server logs:

• your IP address
• the date and time of access
• the file requested and the volume of data transferred
• browser type and operating system
• the previously visited page, if your browser sends it

We need this information so that the page can be delivered at all and in order to detect attacks and faults. We do not combine it with other data and do not build usage profiles from it.

What we expressly do not do

• No cookies and no comparable storage techniques.
• No analytics or tracking tools — no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising networks.
• No content from third-party servers. Fonts, images, films and program code are held entirely on our own server. Your browser establishes no connection to third parties while visiting this site.
• No social media buttons and no embedded video platforms.

The calculator on the home page

The self-test on the home page runs entirely in your browser. Your entries — headcount, key-role changes, costs — are not transmitted to us, not stored, and disappear as soon as you close the page. We do not learn that you used it, let alone what it produced.

If you contact us

If you contact us by email or telephone, we process your details solely in order to deal with your enquiry. If an engagement follows, we retain the correspondence within the statutory retention periods; if none follows, we delete it no later than twelve months after the last contact. The information is not passed on to third parties.

Hosting

This website is operated by Infomaniak Network SA, Geneva, in data centres in Switzerland. Infomaniak processes the log data described above as our processor and is contractually bound to comply with data protection requirements. No transfer of data abroad takes place.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Data Protection Act you may request information about whether and which data we process about you, request its correction or deletion, and object to processing. An informal message to info@firnkern.ch is sufficient. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Client data

This policy concerns the website only. How we handle operational knowledge, recordings and documents from ongoing projects is set out in detail on the home page under Confidentiality and is governed by contract before a project begins.

Changes

We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies. Last updated: September 2026.
